Paradoxical as the term spiritual realism may seem to some, it carries deep original meaning and progressive revolutionary purpose.

Spiritual Realism is for people interested in spirituality, but who don’t like the superstition, magical thinking, and infantile emotions that go with what passes for religion and spirituality. We are all living in a local and global context which is entirely alien to the cultures and circumstances that gave birth to the spiritualities and religions of the past. In this era of radical spiritual change a new clarity is emerging.

The New age movement has exploded out into western global culture, awakening millions of people to the significance of spirituality. There are highly significant and encouraging things going on in the new spirituality but unfortunately it too is burdened with a mass of superstition, magical thinking and infantile deity worship.

The god of every religion has been disgraced by history and rendered absurd by the explosion in knowledge that has taken place during the last three hundred years. Who can convince themselves that the gods of history have created the vast eternal Universe being explored by Astrophysics?

Still we human beings are undeniably spiritual beings. Surely we are able to explore and awaken to the spiritual without buying into a mass of superstition, magical thinking and infantile god worship. Equally we are capable of exploring and sharing our spiritual insights and questions in a respectful intelligent manner.

Spiritual Realism is a thinking individuals approach to the spiritual and holds mans powers of reason and thinking in the highest regard. Spiritual Realism is a fundamentally positive and affirmative way of abiding within the actuality of existence. Even though the Earth and all that lives are undeniably in the chaos of an extreme ethical and survival crisis, we embrace life as a positive spiritual challenge.

Spiritual realism rejects as unreal all cynical life hating nihilism and the psychologism and consumerism that lead to it. The fundamental mood of spiritual realism towards and for life is sacred wonder, awe and gratitude.

Spiritual Realism loves and respects the Earth and eagerly embraces all ecological knowledge and understanding. Any knowledge method or process that violates the ecological integrity of the Earth is a destructive practice and runs counter to the aspirations of spiritual realism.

Spiritual Realism affirms the fundamental spiritual freedom of all Individual beings.
This spiritual freedom is innate and does not derive from any God/dess external being or agency whatsoever. This primordial and innate freedom has for its context the impersonal laws of action and balance prevailing throughout every part of the whole of Life. Because beings are primordially and innately free they are capable of love-wisdom-freedom, we-awareness, enlightenment and immortality.
Spiritual Realists are profoundly aware that mans primordial being is fundamentally governed by: Love Wisdom and Freedom.

Spiritual Realists have faced the fact that all past paths to deep spiritual awakening have failed to meet the challenges of modern life. A new approach to the spiritual wellbeing of individuals and cultures is being revealed explored and explicated by Spiritual Realism. Yet it would be more accurate to state that there is a timeless quality to what Spiritual Realism comprehends, reveals and makes evident.

Spiritual Realism acknowledges that multicultural spirituality is an early phase in the realization of a truly Universal Spirituality and carries the promise that all humanity can become united by a common spiritual understanding.

This truly Global Spirituality unfolds in a new awareness space beyond all preexisting God/desses, cultural religions, and spiritualities. Spiritual Realism is not syncretism or a mélange or synthesis of multicultural spirituality but is a radical deep awakening to the reality of spirituality as it is living now. Spiritual Realism is dedicated to the emergence and dissemination of this new universal spirituality.

Spiritual Realism does not seek to restore any religion or spirituality of the past. It neither validates nor support any culturally conditioned religious or spiritual ‘need’. The notion that new spiritualities emerge in order to meet and serve preexisting psycho spiritual needs is a delusion promoted by traditional religionists. And merely results in ‘spiritual consumerism’ turning the spiritual into a commodity and marketplace. Spiritual Realism overcomes these conditioned ‘spiritual needs’ because they are a false starting place for any legitimate exploration of authentic spirituality.

Spiritual Realism actively and not merely theoretically checks tests and verifies every spiritual mode of mans being and his relationship to the whole of life. The essential spiritual exists beyond all cultural and historical coloration. This radical insight liberates the spiritual realist from all useless and habitual attachment to outmoded and obstructive spiritual traditions and pretensions.

Spiritual Realists do not believe in miracles or supernatural events. But see in all so called miracles and supernatural events, as yet unexplained laws of nature. These so called miracles and supernatural events are directly linked to as yet unexplored talents and faculties inherent in mans being. Nevertheless there are those who understand these laws and abilities and are capable of producing apparently miraculous events and apparitions. Spiritual Realism observes that all life is governed by impersonal laws and so too is mans being and life.

Spiritual Realism rejects every anthropomorphic God/dess, all forms of superstition blind faith, magical thinking and messiah savior myth.
Spiritual Realists do not believe that any God/dess with a name is the ultimate Sacred Reality.

Spiritual Realism nevertheless acknowledges that Gods and Goddess along with a great variety of nonphysical beings do exist in great numbers throughout the manifested universe.

But as all of these beings, Gods, Goddesses and other beings, just like man are finite in their manifested aspects and formless in their unmanifest principles. Thus they are bound just like man by the impersonal laws of the spiritual universe. None of these beings are fit subjects for worship. The worship of any such being is mere superstitious idolatry.

Spiritual Realism regards with skepticism all forms of contrived or forced methods of so called self improvement. These include but are not limited to pseudo spiritual techniques claiming to be able to enhance material prosperity. Technologies of the mind or psyche promising to enhance personal power social standing and the ability to covertly influence others are destructive of the integrity of the individual and society. All those techniques and methods directed at endowing immature persons with precocious psychic and magical powers, and offering the lure of avoided karma.
All forms of Hatha or “forced yoga” of the body, soul or the mind are to be viewed as dangerous and unnecessary to the path of wholesome sacred spiritual awakening.

Spiritual Realism is dedicated to Self realization through the cultivation of an increasingly clear comprehension of innate Self understanding, within the context of the individual’s life as it actually is now. Separation from family friends and associates is neither necessary nor desirable to spiritual realism. Alienation from family friends and associates is already the unfortunate lot of the separate-self in its shadow realm of nihilistic consumerism. Every we-world can be the site for a deep awakening to we-awareness and spiritual reality.

To this end Spiritual Realism takes a primordial phenomenological, rather than psychological view of human and sacred experience.
The primordial phenomenological understanding of the self embraces all possible awareness states without imposing ideology theology or psychology.
The Self is much more than a mere self doubting ‘I think’ psychological subject, a Separate-self confined by its biography and socio-ethnic conditioning.
The Self already is Individuality is innate; the Self is always already a spiritual being.
Individuality cannot be developed or acquired because it already always IS. The Self is fundamentally grounded in Love Wisdom and Freedom. Spiritual Realism observes an illusory Separate-self which is the product of: unredeemed past-actions, social conditioning, trauma, fear and ignorance.

This Separate-self is the self doubting ‘I think’ psychological subject defined by its biography and socio-ethnic conditioning.
The Separate-self is the basis for alienated narcissistic individualism and existence in consumer society which as we all know is destroying authentic human life and the Earth.

Spiritual Realism fosters the free emergence of robust intelligent creative and sensitive individuality by revealing the true grounds of being a spiritual Self.
At the same time it is discovered that when the Separate-self is overcome Individuals become capable of being present in we-awareness in positive creative spiritual harmony. A radical new we-awareness-space has opened and grounded itself in the relational space where Spiritual Realists abide.
Thus a radical and renewed balance between the Individual and the Many is revealed. This is called the mystery of “the one and the many”.

Through the apprehension of the spiritual reality of the Self in Life, and the deep comprehension of those self evident universal laws that actually govern Life and a dedication to living in truth and we-awareness Spiritual Realists awaken to “heightened presence”.
Heightened Presence is this state of we-awareness in which the fusion of reason intuition and energetic awareness has taken place.
It is an awareness state of uncontrived naturalness. It is the end of Psychologism’s alienation, the end of anxiety paranoia and antisocial nihilism. 

This awareness state combined with the knowledge of mans place within the whole of life makes the individual Spiritual Realist nearly impossible to deceive. A group of Spiritual Realists cannot be confused or deceived at all. Spiritual Realism heralds the radical democratization of the spiritual. Through the deep awakening of “heightened presence” which is the perceptual and actual fusion of reason, intuition, and energetic we-awareness spiritual realists live in a transparent community.
Heightened Presence is the foundation of spiritual realist community.    

Spiritual Realism is “presence ecology” and understands that incarnated human beings are spiritual awareness organisms who live in a “presence sphere”. This presence sphere is the ultimate flower and expression of the biosphere. Through the fusion of reason intuition and energetic awareness spiritual realists enter a state of we-awareness called “heightened presence”.
Communities of spiritual realists meet in this state of we-awareness which is a state of total mutual transparency and energetic truth.  

The fact that all stages of Self and we-awareness exist confirms that specific beings and communities of beings are more capable of Love Wisdom Freedom and we-awareness than others. These fully heightened presence beings are naturally more responsible and wholistic than their less spiritually mature community members. Thus it falls upon these more capable individuals to educate, guide and lead the community.
The spiritual realist community has the task of educating guiding and presencing a new culture. This new culture is dedicated to the survival and benefit of all beings that are freely able to fully enter into spiritual realism.

NEW GENESIS: 

Spiritual Realism exists as a new genesis in the history of humanity on Earth and in the Cosmos. Spiritual Realism is the transcendence of all previous God/desses races and historical cultures.
The situation is clear: if human beings fail to emancipate themselves from the terminal state of current civilization then all humanity and all life on Earth will lapse ever farther into ethical chaos and ultimate extinction.
Everywhere those responsible spiritual human beings strive to liberate themselves from the spiritual distortions of the past and create living communities of free individuals acting in the dynamic harmony of heightened presence, there spiritual realism and healthy culture is growing.
Any being still owing karmic allegiance to an existing God/dess race or historical culture cannot be a full Spiritual Realist.
Anyone who tries to expropriate the insights of spiritual realism to bolster an existing religion or organization has not understood that spiritual realism is the total transcendence of all previous religions and organizations.
Spiritual Realism arises as an inevitable transcendence and deep awakening from within Western Global multicultural civilization and spirituality. This is not only the result of global socio-cultural evolution but the result of a deep awakening within Spiritual Reality itself.
